When I first saw the Making Memories “like it is” die cut stickers I knew exactly what pictures I would use. They totally inspired this whole layout! Thanks for looking!
Jenny

There is a hidden accordion journal under the acrylic frame. It reads:
“My Gavin, my Bubba, from the day you were born I knew you would follow in Daddy’s footsteps. The falls, the bruises, the bumps, and the stitches. And then there was me: Me! The one that passes out at the first sight of blood. But I had to check it out and call Daddy and then we raced to the emergency room. I only started to pass out after I knew you were safe- the Dr. made me sit with my head down (but I still had you in my arms). I expected you to be “All Boy”. I just didn’t know all the duties of a mother with a son. You have taught me so much! I have to say; I never imagined how my children might change my personality. But you, Gavin, and your fearlessness and Daredevilness has changed me. And not in a bad way at all! I was the one not to try something because I might get hurt. Well, you: you’ve always given it a go. How fun (and scary!) it has been to watch you live a carefree life? Because of you I try new daring things (which may not seem daring to you) but I’d like you to think I can be brave too so I give it a try and you know what? Life is so much more fun thinking like a fearless little boy!”

Supplies used:
Making Memories:
Like it is die cut stickers (I just LOVE these!)
Jigsaw alphabet
Acrylic frame
Eyelets
Staples
Embellishment paper “ethan” (I distressed this with sandpaper)
Woven alphabet
Label holders (these have been spray painted to match)
Woven ribbon & attachments
Moxie fab stickers (tab)
Screw snaps

Stampin Up: vellum & paper
Jim Holtz distress ink
Krylon “make it suede” spray paint
Denim: Old Navy??? : )

Techniques:
Lots of distressing with sandpaper. I really like to use the corner of a sanding block to sand lines around the edge of pictures to “frame” them.
Direct ink to paper around the edges most of the solid paper
