This is for the DIY Challenge, Aug, 2010.
Step 1. Gather supplies:
fine needle with a tiny eye
heavy thread or waxed beaders thread
tray with a shallow lip to hold beads
Step 2. Tape thread to back of cardstock.
Step 3. Take thread through the back of the cardstock and out the front of the cardstock close to the edge of the cardstock but not so close it will pull through the edge and rip out.
Step 4. Add 1 bead to needle.
Step 5. Take thread back through the back of cardstock and out the front of the carstock and then up through the bottom of the bead so the bead sits on the edge of the cardstock.
Step 6. Add 2 beads to needle.
Step 7. Take thread through the front of the cardstock and out the back of the cardstock.
Step 8. Take needle up through the bottom of the bead. This will cause one bead to sit above the row of beads sitting on the cardstock.
Step 9. Add 2 beads to needle. Take needle through the front of the cardstock and out the back, then up through the bottom of the last bead. Repeat until you reach the end.
Step 10. Add one bead, take needle down through the first bead to create the upper bead between the first bead and the last bead. Anchor the thread to the back of cardstock with tape, cut thread. Now you have an elegant border. This can be done with colored beads as well to create a fun colorful border.
