This is my response to Brenda/twinscrapbee's challenge for Scrap Happenzz Critique Group, "Advent Calendar," to either scrap an advent calendar, a holiday-related top 25 list or holiday-related pictures-of-the-day for 25 days. I chose the last option, w/ my response being two 2-pagers of photos I took during everyday starting when I first read about this challenge in early Dec '09. I always thought the P365 concept was so cool but knew I couldn't do it for a year - but I COULD do it for 25 days!
Both my 2-pagers for this challenge started out based on the right side of Sketches by Suzy's #73 sketch but then they morphed into something else because I was trying to keep the pics in order (I goofed on placing #3 in order but I dealt w/ it). By the Pt 2 LO, things got a little mixed up because of the vertical shots, oh well… As usual, my scanner cropped out the edges of the pages; there's more margin IRL than seen here. (Pages match up better IRL too).
I wanted a pp matte around groups of photos for this so I arranged the pics on the matte paper 1st, then I handcut the matte. Because the background pp was so lively, I Stickled the outer perimeter of the pics to emphasize them more. Hard to see in the scans how shiny a few elements are – the Stickles, the foil cs title, the glitter mattes in Pt 1 & the glitter background in Pt 2 – they look better in person! The Icicle Stickles was a giftie from Chell Rae – thanks Michelle!
The stars are grungeboard; I outlined them on the Cricut then handcut & inked silver.
Thanks, Brenda, for the fun challenge! I really enjoyed my little Project 25.
