This 2-page LO describes Flash's early TEETER training. In it, I describe our struggles as we worked to overcome his initial fear of it's movement and noise until he began to LOVE it.
Journaling; For successfully completing the TEETER at speed and stopping in the correct two-on-two-off contact position, Flash gets a cookie.
We worked hard to perfect Flash's TEETER skills. We went to extra classes so that he could get comfortable while other dogs banged it on the ground. Bang-cookie-bang-cookie-bang-cookie. Endlessly. Eventually, my perseverance paid off and Flash became more and more comfortable with the TEETER. Faster and faster he went, until finally, it became his favorite obstacle. No longer fearful of the noise or the motion as he rode it down, Flash was ready to begin his career as a competitive agility dog!
