This is stunning! The monochromatic papers and photo are so warm and the distressing adds so much texture. The gems in the half-circle add a touch of elegance that I just love!
This was done for the Use Your Supplies Challenge - Week 4 - to use 5 different distressing techniques on a layout. Anyone who knows me and how much I love distressing is probably not surprised that this is the first layout I chose to do for that challenge - LOL!
The layout is a lift of lifes lessons by Robinzberdz that is featured this month on my Scraplifting 101 layout. The photo is of my future sil, Chris, getting ready to do a little surfing in Galveston. Since he and my daughter moved there last month, they have taken surfing lessons and really embraced the activity!
As for distressing: I inked the paper, crumbled the paper, tore the paper, poked holes in the paper, sanded the paper, and I did some stitching that I then pulled at to distress. I also sanded two edges of the large photo and inked both of them.
I cut the surfboard out on my Silhouette. And I used my wonderful Distress it All for my paper edges that my best scrappy friend Alissa picked up for me!
