Grrrr... had the settings all wrong so the focus and lighting are way off, but look who showed up unexpectedly! If you have been with me long enough, you know this is Jennifer, of the Zack and Jenn pair of mated ducks that return to my yard each spring. I've NEVER seen Jenn with a baby though - in the 11 years she's visited, she always wanders off between May and July 4th or so and only Zack is around - always knew she must be in a neighbors bushes with the newborns. Well... seems one of this year's brood escaped and went wandering on his/her own because this was one momma on a mission... she was quacking and dang near RUNNING as she crossed the street and headed for the house two down from mine. I suspect she left Daddy with the family and went off in search of her little dare devil. Momma was TICKED LOL
