This birthday card for my mom incorporates hydrangeas (one of her favourite flowers) and the colours of much of her home decor. To me the tones of this card also telegraph the season in which my mom's special day falls (early spring), melding the more somber hues of late (Canadian) winter with the vibrancy of budding springtime and the return of soft blue skies.
