Hello Everyone. Happy Day to You! I've been working on this layout for a couple of days. I think my struggle creating this layout has been about the person who this layout is made for. This is my MIL a/k/a Lollipop. My MIL has been a major supporter of mine in this hobby. She has supplied me with most of her crafting supplies because she "retired" from crafting a couple of years ago. She has given me the biggest compliment by asking me if she could have a couple of the layouts that I created where she has been the main focus of the layout. She now has those 2 layouts hanging in her living room. This past Wednesday, I received the dreaded midnight call (well, it was 11:51 to be exact) that we all hate to received....because its never good news. My BIL who lives with her, advised me the ambulance had to take my MIL to the hospital. She is still in the hospital, four days later. This caused an urgency feeling for me to create this third layout which she requested the last time DH and I were visiting her. The sketch is from the website 52 Sketches 52 Weeks; its #49. I was able to use some of the precious supplies that MIL has given me: the blue ribbon, the rivets and hole puncher, and the lace. The vertical pieces have chipboard behind them to give extra sturdiness to the strips as the paper was quite thin. I would like to give a huge huggie and THANK YOU to my wonderful friend, OBADIAH for the beautiful sparkly butterfly at the top...this was a perfect piece. The small corner flowers I make using the Fiskars Burst punch and a little bit of Star Dust Stickles. The layout is done in colors of blue, which is MIL's favorite color (just one more thing her and I have in common). All three pictures were taken in northern Wisconsin where she spent most of her youth. The young man in the middle picture is her Uncle Jack; he was just 12 when she was born in 1929. I love hearing her stories as she had a very "colorful" childhood. So very glad she has shared those memories with me. She is a priceless one. I thank each of you for spending some time with me today and looking at this layout. I wish for you a wonderful day!
