Journaling: Observing you over the last few months, I am amazed at the little person you've become. I would say I'm “proud” of your development, but I'm not sure how much of it is my own doing. Your selflessness at the young age of 3 amazes me. If someone gives something to you out in public, you ask for another one for your little brother. You say “thank you” to the librarians after storytime without having to be told. When we ask you to do something, you say, “yes, Mommy” and “yes Daddy.” You love to do schoolwork on your dry erase board, and you've learned to write your name in capital letters. You run over to show Daddy every time you write a new word. You like to draw flowers in a pot, too. Even when I fail in my job to protect you, you don't show disappointment in me as you should. On the contrary, you shower me with undeserved affection, turning to me for comfort and reassurance. And lastly, you now pose for me so I can have pictures to remind myself of what a sweet little girl you are.
