Journaling
March 28, 2001...One of the hardest days as a mother. You were only 2 days old, I thought we possibly be going home until your routine checkup in the nursery. The nurse took you like she did the morning before but this time the On Call Resident heard something. He heard what he thought was a murmor. After a lot of testing and me trying to comfort you, Dr Stern came to my room to discuss what he found. He explained the you had a defect and that your heart didn't completely form during the 8 weeks of gestation. He ordered that you be moved to the NICU to be monitored and medicated. I was so scared not only were you sick but they were taking you. Dr Stern assured me that you would be okay! For 3 days you laid in a warmer hooked up to a monitor and was given medications to regulate your heart. You were such a strong little girl and responded to the medication beautifully! After 3 days and a lot of prayer you were able to go home!

The embellishments are the probs from the NICU, another one of her wrist bands, her blood pressure cuff, and one purple standouts baby pin.

Thank you for looking!
