Skipper needed a costume for the school book fair. So barbie made her this costume from a plastic bag and scrap cardstock.
Actually I entered a book fair as the Statue of Liberty, my mother made my costume by hand, sewing sequins on the sash. My father covered a dictionary with tissue paper and painstakingly lettered the roman numerals. He made the torch from heavy cardboard and a roll of masking tape was the ring, fire was tissue paper with sequins glued on. Headress was a tupperware bowl with cardboard star glued on-he painted it all white and glued sequins to outline. I had white eye shadow with a few sequins stuck on and my hair was sprayed white with haircolor. I would have won, but was disqualified when we couldn't find a book with the statue of Liberty. I did get my picture in the paper, but sadly that disappeared long ago.
