My son recently broke his leg on the playground slide. I thought it would be a very difficult time for us, but children are so resilient and adaptable! I just wish I was!

Journaling is hidden and reads:
"Your first mark of boyhood albeit, a little early at 15 ½ months old. Mommy took you on the slide on my lap and your little sneaker got caught, bending your leg underneath you. I knew something was wrong when I couldn’t console you and you wouldn’t bear weight. Poor thing just started walking and now, you were in a splint for two weeks with a cast for a month following. It all happened on March 29, 2006. You fractured your leg near the ankle, something only a physical therapist’s son would do! Once you were in the cast, you were nearly back to normal….just a little “off-kilter” with your walking because it was so clunky. But you didn’t let it stop you! I’m sure it’s just the beginning of more injuries to come. And although you handled it like a brave little boy, your Mommy didn’t do quite as well…"
