There’s something about a blanket of white snow covering everything that recalls visions from books, paintings, and movies of the ideal Christmas weather. While other places may have a good possibility of getting a white Christmas, chances here are very slim. My dreams came true last year. 2010 was my first truly white Christmas. We got several inches. True, there was 0.3” back in 1989, but the last time there had been a white Christmas here was 1969. Whenever I’m disappointed that we don’t have ‘ideal’ Christmas weather, I remember that there wasn’t any snow or even cold weather on THE Christmas. It was most likely spring when Christ was born because the shepherds were in the fields, which means it was the time lambs were born. How perfect is God’s timing that the ultimate sacrifice was born at the same time as the Jew’s yearly sin sacrifice?
