I love Genealogy! I've been searching documents and records for years and meeting distant relatives to get as much of the facts as possible. I've traced the Newman Line back to the first Newman to arrive in America in the 1600's. Most of my LO's are documentation.
This is my Grandfather's Grandfather. The document is a copy of their marriage license that was issued February 5, 1854. My cousin furnished me with the picture and the PDF file is on Microfish file at the Library. Quite a find to see an actual copy of the real document. At least to me...The photo is the only photo found of either one of them. This was listed as his Civil War photo, it was taken some time in May 1863 before he left for the war.
I printed the document on off white card stock and distressed the edges. The frame and chipboard I used Tim Holtz crackle paint.
