Cheesy Movie Sunday Mornings - What a surprise to see The Singing Nun on TMC. Talk about being swept back in time! I lasted long enough to here Dominic...and couldn't believe I remembered the original words in French as I sang along. So I absolutely had to dig through my old pics, find my treasures from my trip to Sacred Heart Academy archives (in St. Louis) and my last trip to my school grounds (on the National Historic Registry and now converted to condos).
I found the sepia pic on internet, which hints at the glamour and majestic beauty of the interior. I was so excited when I found this pic! The May Crowning tradition for SHA was to wear your First Monday Uniform with mandatory white gloves, white bobby socks, white patent leather Mary Janes, and wearing my coveted pink ribbon, and elementary girls also wore their First Communion Veil. SHA had schools in several continents and countries and also had dormitory housing for the international students. The Clifton School, as it was known, closed in 1970. I loved stamping the background in the herringbone pattern of our daily uniforms.
