Your right, taken separately those papers are kind of ugly,, but you have made them into a work of art! I would not have known they were ugly until I read the comments then read the description just to make sure.

I didn't even realize these were your uglies until I read that first comment!-I am looking at it in the both category!...terrific idea for the checkerboard/title...this looks very cool!-you certainly nailed that challenge!!!!
