I challenged myself to use a grey/aqua/neon pink color scheme as well a large title on a layout. I found these photos I had already printed that I thought would go great with the color scheme. At the time I took them I think I intended to make a layout about a "fun day" or something to that effect. Now that some time has passed, I decided to instead use them as a jumping off point to illustrate my dd's creative & resourceful mind. I know I don't tell her enough how proud we are of her abilities so this was a great way to record those thoughts down.
The doubled up pink part of the title was a happy accident. I had already embossed one set of letters in the neon when I decided I should have highlighted the cool transparent quality of them more by just edging them with paint. So I painted a set (after all, I am trying to use up my stash), but once they dried the pink didn't really seem to glow against the grey like the opaque letters. So I had both sets on my worktable, alternating placing them on to top to choose which one to go with, when I accidentally knocked the opaque ones on top of the transparent ones. Bingo! I loved how the edged ones gave a shadow effect behind the opaque so I layered both of them up on my layout. I love the super dimensional effect they now give plus I use up even more of my stash. tfl!
