Oh, yes, they just have this strength that comes from their family and being the thread that holds it all together. At least my abuelita is like that, and my abuelita Elisa (may she rest in peace) was the one who kept her family from total financial ruin by doing craftwork, hairdressing, sewing, and everything in between

Abuelita

This is my grandmother, mi abuelita, Rosy. She's almost 80 years old and still strong. She walks every day to my mom's house in Mexico and refuses to be driven. A very strong woman indeed. The background although you can't see it very well in the picture is a weave of ribbon. A very labor intensive technique, but I like the LO
