Love it! It looks wonderfully organized! Do the pads come out easily? I've got that dang arthritis so silly little things like that are important.. thanks and again it looks really nice!!
So sorry about the water damage to your house. Good luck getting your house back in order. I hope youll soon be able to fix your scrap room up to be more to your liking :o) Ro
How lovely to have a crafting companion. When I used to scrap with my neighbour, Kez, her cat Bertie always used to stay with us as well. Mind you, he saw himself more as the "supervisor", and he could be quite vocal too!
Haha, no, it is a dog box! He evicted himself from the box after he'd been crate and house trained. He likes to lay on the rug with his blankie in this picture while I'm crafting.
Wow, your supplies are amazing, Kimy! Even though things are in boxes, there seems to be method in your storage arrangement. I bet you're glad when you can bring in your new furniture though.
My craft desk stands away from the window in the darker part of a small room. I have purchased a daylight / craft lamp with 3 settings that has helped no end!
These units look fantastic! And they seem to be the perfect solution for you. Great investment. I also bought a (small) unit recently. It is made from MDF, holds 30 large ink pads and stands on my desk. I only have a fraction of your ink pad supply but it is so nice when you just have to reach for one and you know exactly where it is.
I've been crafting out of boxes for 2 years now. I started by standing at my half size freezer in the living room while workers were in trying to repair my two bedrooms after flooding from an HOA water main break in my complex. My entire wardrobe had to be sent for cleaning and a whole lot of things had to be boxed after salvage and cleaning. Now, more work needs to be done!
So, I'm still surrounded by boxes and my crafting supplies have added to it all while acquiring more. I got really tired of trying to find my ink pads in the colors I wanted to use for any given project, as they were all mixed up in a box along with some paper punches. I finally decided that I was in desperate need of proper ink storage, so off to Scrapbook.com I went!
These three Portaink units I bought were exactly what I needed. Together, they hold all my ink pads and reinkers and have room for a dozen and a half more. (I've pulled five for a current project.) I'm so pleased. I haven't bought the spacers for smaller pads, but I have lots of things I can do in place of them. I do plan to buy the matching marker holders eventually. Since these units have wall mounting holes on the back, I want to find the studs and hang them on the wall as well (these are sturdy and hefty units).
Edit to add, I've been asked and can answer honestly that the regular sized ink pads (all brands) are easy to remove from their spot in the unit (I have arthritis, too). I just bought a set of three more units in black with the corresponding inserts to hold my Tim Holtz Distress Oxide pads, since I'm building that collection, too. Again, no complaints here!
This is all in my spare room. Dark and not good lighting except right over my main workspace. One day soon, I hope to have new furniture in this room with space for everything and everything in its place. I've already planned it all out.
