Cardstock albums can be handmade but you will need a long-reach stapler in order to get the staples on the spine edge. Use a stapler or hole punch on the album edge so you can fasten the ribbons for tying closed. The photo frame can be cut with an Exacto cutting knife or other brand of knife and a template.
Instead of staples for binding, this album could be hole punched at the spine and ribbon could be used to lace it together.
