wow...this is beautiful. my middle name also comes from my grandmother's name, which is also josephine. the journaling is fabulous, and i really like the "what's in a name" theme.
I just had a thought... maybe your hubby thought about the same thing. I was thinking, WOW, this is so different from anything I've seen Libby do before. But then again, I haven't seen pics of your grandmothers which makes it very different, I guess. Maybe that's where your hubby is coming from... he's used to seeing something different.
I looooove love love the journaling on this one!!
I think this is perfect!! I just loooooove the journaling. I wish I had a picture of my grandmother who everyone always says I'm the spitting image off.
What's your hubby's issue with this again? I tried to find an issue, but couldn't, and I really tried :-)
As always, with your layouts, I am very impressed. You do beautiful work, Libby. If you, and I emphasize you, because this is YOUR book, wanted to reduce the gold I might take out the duplicate filigree between the two grandmothers, but I really agree with the others, it is beautiful as is! JY
Oh wow! Libby I love this. The journaling is superve and the whole geniology you have going here is just wonderful. Great records for Jay and your future children. What can I say? Perfect!

For those of you who like journaling... I got my middle name from my great-great grandmother Josphine Edwards and my grandmother Alva Josephine Trainer. My mother knew of a majorette at the University of Texas, where she and my dad both went to school, by the name of Libby. She thought it was a cute name. My maiden name, Locklear, is a Lumbee Indian name. The Lumbee Indians are located in North Carolina. When I married John, I took his last name, which means bird in Hungarian. In this photo, I am thirty-nine. My great-great grandmother's photo was dated 1903 and was taken in Sayers, Texas. My granny's photo was probably taken around 1920. Because I am my grandmother's namesake, I inherited a beautiful gold locket that my great-great grndmother gave to her. It is inscribed: "From Grandmother to Josephine" ...yes, this is the same photo as my title page (I don't have many) I just reversed it and changed to sepia ;)
