The finished cover title page of my Matthews Genealogy Book 1819-2005. Outside of a few random LO's, my book is completed. I have over 35 pages! To recap: this book is the Grand Prize for our Matthews Family Reunion on June 25th. My goal w/this book is to show my family that genealogy is not boring and that we can still scrapbook w/o having many photos of our ancestors. Several of these pages don't have photographs b/c they don't exist. To trace and document our family history for this book, I incorporated several sources: US Census Records; Death Certificates; Birth Certificates; Marriage Records (earliest is from 1819); newspapaer articles and Obituaries; photos of gravemarkers & tombstones; Decsendant charts. I printed all of these documents on scrapbook paper and/or photo paper to give it a heritage look. This book is a spiralbound 91/2 x 10 book. I did not want a "finished look" or a book incased in page protectors. I want my family to handle this book and touch the different textures. An ancestory/heritage book should be caressed! All photos were copied and most were ripped for an aged look. All color photos were copied in B&W. I hope you enjoyed looking at my book. Thank you!
