For the Book of Me Schooldays Challenge. My very first day at school. I don't remember much about it, except dad taking this photo. But I did really like Miss Russell, my Year One teacher. I remember falling asleep in class once and another time I called her Mum instead of Miss Russell. I loved Friday mornings because they were 'wet days' when we did all kinds of hands on activities including science and cooking. I also remember learning my abc's and being very proud of the first day I could spell 'cat'.
Journalling: On my very first day of school in 1982, I posed before the family car with my port. Mum did my hair in pigtails before dad took me to school where we were all given nametags and met Miss Russell.
