About the pictures: These are photos of me (Angela) at around 6 months of age, and my father (Tony), also taken when he was around 6 months old. The smaller picture is me and my dad taken about 3 years ago. This was a challenging page to do, because I really did not know if I truly “forgave” my dad for letting me be adopted by someone else when I was only 3 years old, only to reunite with me and my mom again when I was 13. I discovered when I did this page that not only do I totally forgive him, but I love him dearly, I understand why he did what he did so many years ago, and I am glad life took the twists and turns it did so that I can be exactly where I am today. Talk about a cathartic hobby! : -)

About the journaling: “For the most part, I really do not wish I grew up any differently. If my childhood had been different, I would not have Michelle or Robin or Genea as my sisters, and I would not have such a close bond with my grandparents. But I cannot lie and say there haven't been moments when I've wondered how it would have been to have my dad raise me my entire life, instead of giving me up when I was 3 years old, only to be re-introduced to me 10 years later. I know he and I are a great example of “nature” – Not only do I exhibit many of his physical attributes, but I also share many of his personality traits. I am thankful he came back into my life, even if I did miss out on many early years with my dad. And I can certainly say that, ever since we re-started our father-daughter relationship, he has always nurtured me.”

About the scrapbooking: (All papers used are CTMH)
• I used a solid cream-colored textured cardstock for the background.
• Then I cross-hatched ink on edges of a steel blue solid sheet and placed that vertically on the right said of the page.
• I added a strip of patterned paper below, then placed a wider piece of striped paper horizontally across the page.
• I snipped the edges of the striped paper, wet them and rolled them to show the chocolate on the opposite side and to add an “antiqued” feel to the page.
• I cross-hatched ink on a narrower cocoa sheet of paper and laid that over the striped paper.
• I stamped patterns on more solid cream paper and matted the two photos. Put more flourish stamps along the top and bottom of the page and used stamps, chocolate ink and liquid glass over the letters to make the title and the name cards.
• Finally I printed the journaling onto cream paper and inked the edges, adding a cream ribbon and tiny chipboard tag attached with brown hemp.
• Lastly I stamped “dad” on the tag and glued some coordinating papers on the back of a few clear buttons with brown hemp knotted in them.

Anyway, if you had the time to read all of this, I really appreciate it – and thanks for looking!
