Wonderful page. I am about to be a grandmother and starting a book for her. What a great idea. I'm also journaling events of 2009, which is the yr she will be born. Love your gallery and your style.
It's so great to see people documenting this for future generations. Not just 'what happened?' but 'how did i feel about it?' I haven't done mine yet, but as a non-US citizen, living on the other side of the world, I hope mine will show a little of 'how the rest of the world saw it'. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Love this and really like the background you used.
Wow...wow....wow - this gives me chills. What a fabulous idea. Was taking some time to go through more in your gallery collection and was just captured by this and your desire to leave this for prosperity. Hope you don't mind, but, I think I'll take inspiration from you and do something like this about Palin and also Obama for that matter as the first African-American pres nominee and put it in my granddaughter's book. Thanks for thinking outside the box here.....what a great reminder to open up our world and take in what's out there.
Thanks for sharing with us, M
What a great layout!! And a genius idea! I love that you are documenting it for the future. I have saved newspapers from all the major events in my history so I should consider them for this kind of layout! Nice work!!
Very nice! See PM for another idea to add right along these lines if you want. This is an awesome thing to scrap. I appreciate being reminded that less than 100 yrs ago women could not vote. Thanks!
Wow! I realize this is a historical election year, but never thought to bring it to life the way you did for future generations. This is really amazing and you are to be congratulated for "thinking outside of the box". I've seen so many scrap pages with just family and friends, which is wonderful. However, major news events are also part of our lives, and you have just added another dimension to our love for scrapping.
What an AWESOME idea!!! I may just ahve to lift this! We are truly living through an historic election, and you are soooooo right....we should document it.
Less than 100 years ago, women could not vote. I did this LO for my future grandchildren, as we are in the middle of a historic election year. I would have loved to have a page like this from my grandmother documenting her feelings about current events or politics of her day! There is hidden journaling which contains my personal feelings about Sen. McCain choosing a woman VP running mate. I made a color copy of a newspaper photo, and also took a picture of another article. I like this combo of red, brown and parchment. The red chipboard word 'august' is the same red as the flower IRL.
