Peggy, I am SO IMPRESSED! This is an amazing layout. Love the way you created the background area for your journaling (have never heard of gesso - what is it?) and that stitching is FANTASTIC! Love all the shading of the colours; I really don't know how to use those Tim Holz Distressing Inks but have seen them when in America. This really is a stunning lo.
Wow- Peggy, this is absolutely stunning! Your stitching is just amazing- WTG!! Love the paint, the masking, the colors- love it all! And the photo is great too! Fantastic job!
Peggy this so wonderful. The tower is amazing stitching! I have never done any of that. I love how you distressed everything. Also the journaling idea is very inspiring.

WOW, Peggy, this is awesome!!!! Love everything about it. The way you've created the BG paper, the masking, the stitching, the informative journaling and the great picture of YOU. Well done, my friend!
Woooooooow, Peggy, this is really wonderful. It's so elegant and BEAUTIFUL! That stitching is awesome! I love all the different colors of ink you used...they look great together. I also really love how you did the spot for the journaling and masked the doily...how unique! Your layouts just continue to amaze me hon! :)
I could copy/paste what Maureen wrote...this is spectacular, I just can't believe your stitching Peggy!! I like the cretive way to do the journaling too"!!
Oh, my jaw just dropped....WOWWOWWOW, Peggy. This is is fabulous. How long did it take you to do that stitching....that is remarkable! Pic of you is gorgeous. The distressing and the gesso give such nice dramatic effect! I've only used one color of distressing...I've got to get into that some more - I love how it looks. GESSO....that's it....that's the stuff I was trying to remember on my floor quilt (placemat) lo....she first treats the canvas/material with a GESSO...wow, and look at the other things you can do with GESSO -- what a great journaling space and effect that gives...sort of a misty feel that compliments the b/w of pic. Really love this, Peggy....thanks for sharing your wonderful work! M
This is awesome! Your stitching always amazes me! I love this one! And the inking is wonderful too. Love how you left the journaling space lighter so that it pops off the page! Gorgeous lo!
This is me, with the Eiffeltower in the background. I made this LO for Delaina's Keep me in Stitches Challenge.
I attended a workshop using Ranger products last week, and I couldn't wait start experimenting ...
I started by painting gesso on the left side of the page to create a journaling spot and masking a doily. I then inked all the papers with distress inks and adhered them and the picture to the inked BG. I stitched the Eiffel tower and some random lines (to add some touches of black, the LO was turning out a bit pale and boring ...), and the title are stickers, which I outlined with a fine black marker.
The journaling is some information about the Eiffeltower, I don't know all the English words, but I'll try to write down the most important parts:
The Eiffeltower was build in occasion of the World's Exhibit of 1889, after a design by Gustave Eiffel. The tower is 324 metres high and consists of 15.000 metal elements. It's weight is 7.000 tons. It has 3 floors, and you'll find bars and restaurants on every floor. On a clear day, you can see as far as 70 kilometres.
TFL xxx Peggy
Addition: I forgot to mention this, a special thanks to IngridG for giving me the inspiration to stitch the Eiffeltower in the first place, check out her LO "You and Me in Paris".
