These are actual valentines from 1923 -1927....all dated on the back and from my Mothers secret admirer.....It is the same person, as the handwriting is the same on all of them.....She used to say that she had no boyfriend in High School.....but I am wondering now....These notes are just extraordinary...the language, the candid expressions of affection....just priceless!!!!! I copied the back of each card.so that I could use them in the lo. The little tiny red heart, has a stright pin rusted to it...tiny yellow satin ribbon and on the back all it says is "sugar" the front , in very tiny printing, says "I love you". I have had these sitting in my "to do" pile for several years....I never knew exactly how you use these.....I wanted to keep them toggether so they really made the impact I think they must have in her High School years.....there is also a Christmas letter .....on another page, yet to come. This album is truly the story of my Mother, more than anyone else....so I have concluded that these valentines are an important , yet very small, portion of her life.
