I love your description but I'm bummed that I didn't get to read your words of wisdom to your children. LOL!!! So I take it you're not with their father anymore. That would be my dilema doing a BOM. Should I put all that in there? if I did, how would my hubby deal with it.
the LO is amazingly beautiful. You made such a gorgeous bride. and ole what's his name doesn't look half bad either. LOL!!!
wow this is amazing! thanks for including the description of your process, its so appreciated! what a touching page, im sure it is so meaningful for your children!
this is so beautiful--I love that extra touch you did with the flowers! As a divorced person myself, I often think about doing something like this for my children--because no matter how painful the experience was, without it, I wouldn't have the special gift of my children. TFS!
This is so soft and romantic!!! I'm just loving your homemade blooms....the soft layered colours just show your eye for design! This is simply breathtaking! ...love this paper line too!.....to the favs!
You are awesome Jackie!!! As a child (54 years old now) of divorced parents......... it's so comforting to know that "at one time they DID love each other"!! AWESOME !!!!!!!!! Love the pic, btw!
Jackie this is beautiful! I am sure your son's are going to appreciate the work you put into your book. It would be hard to back to the days of your past but that is what makes you, you today! Thanks for sharing..
I love all the wonderful details and work you put into this gorgeous layout, Jackie! What a great idea to make this album; that way it's all down on paper for future generations to enjoy.
It is beautiful, I am also a child of divorce and would like to do a book about me for my kids too. I haven't started as I Don't know how to go about doing the pics of my dad and his side as he hasn't spoken to me in years and I don't want to offend my Mum or my Step dad. I have a limited supply of pics but would like to scrap them. Just love your work!
This is touching in so many ways-the gorgeous lo and use of colors/design-the confidence to realize how important the person always behind the camera is-it is bittersweet when my kids look at old family pictures with the ex-I so admire your ability to love this page through for your kids.
I've decided to make a book about me for my sons and grand kids; things I want them to remember and know about me. The title to this page deals with the age-old question that is especially pertinent to the children of divorce;a question that my oldest son asked me when he was considering marrying his dear Danielle: "How do you know when love is real?" My answer is written on hidden journaling attached to the pull card. It's nothing I haven't told my sons before, but I decided to put it in writing with this picture of their parents when we were in love.
These "Afternoon Tea" SWR pps are so romantic. It doesn't show up in the photo, but I added a faint mask with pink glimmer mist on the bg pp that adds just that extra bit of glamor IRL. I also masked and misted the square of cream pp then layered it with the outer frame of BB chip board brackets, also glimmer misted with purple and pink, and topped it off with a Prima transparency that came in my July swilrydoos kit. It is hard to tell here, but it gives it a shadow box effect that is pretty cool IRL. The corner flourishes are also cut from the same transparency sheet. I trimmed around the photo with deco scissors, added a mat with corners that I rounded with scissors and then layered with foam stickers over the shadow box and BB chipboard frame. There is a lot of dimension to this page that just doesn't photograph well. I made the coffee filter roses using the Swirlydoos tutorial, adding some net for extra flair. I cut the butterflies on my silhouette and then stamped and layered them. I added lace trim purchased at the evil empire and pink liquid pearls and ended up with a page that I really love for all that it features my wedding to my ex! LOL!
