I think the scalloped edges is such an amazing touch!! ....can't say I've had that problem with chipboard before....but I have had it with using certain inks on transparencies!....well anyways, the final effect on this page is simply PERFECTION!! ...for sure a fave!! love this!

You really know what your talking about, cause i don't know how to do about 90% of what you said lol BUT this layout is gorgeous! See I truly do like the girly ones. Love pink.. love pink and black together too. This is quite beautiful forsure!!

You are too cute, Trudy! It sounds like the day I'm having with my layout! But, I love all your fabulous work, and your efforts certainbly have paid off! What a gorgeous and attractive layout you've created! You rock!!!
Oh, Trudy! what a spectacular layout! every detail is perfection (just shows how "mistakes" can turn into brilliant creativity)! your hand-made roses are divine...and I love the extra oomph you gave them with the scalloped edges....love the intertwined trim and circle design....fantastic job with the flourishes....Sharpies have saved the day for me more than once :o) Great work!
These chipboard layouts are my first attempt at screwing up the distressing technique...and I didn't disappoint. I've not used raw chipboard before and figured I needed to seal it so the finish didn't absorb into the board. Seemed logical. Yes? Wrong...After sealing the chiipboard I sprayed it with metal old gold finish, then I tried distressing it. HA! Everything I tried, stamping, antiquing, inking etc, smeared and would not dry. At least most of it washed off! You can still see traces of it on the background chipboard. Finally, I ended up drawing the black flourishes on the scalloped frames, with a 'stick on anything' Sharpie pen. However, after tearing out what little hair I've left, I am pleased with the results. I made the roses using Gabriella's tutorial on her blog. I modified them by scalloping the hearts and adding lightweight pink mulberry papers for a two-toned effect. And a little bling for extra PoP. Somehow, I managed to distress the small frames through trial and error and the white swirls are from the new StoryBook Cricut cartridge. And, of course, the pictures are my granddaughter, Lillian. I also glittered the title letters...they kept getting lost in the whole scheme of things!
