I did this page as part of a December Daily that I am working on. The inspiration is from Jessica Sprague's Holidays in Hand daily prompts. December 8 involved significance of holiday decor.

I wanted to preserve memories that I have of my Aunt. She was a very special person in my life. Unfortunately she was killed in a very horrific auto accident several years ago.

The journaling reads:

"Every year I look forward to getting out certain decor items at the holidays. Among the most treasured is this pillow. It was made by my Aunt Donna. She was extremely talented with thread and needle. Her cross-stitching pieces are some of the most beautiful artwork. She taught and inspired me to pick up this hobby. In this picture, you can see one of the first pieces that I ever created, the Christmas goose ornament. Aunt Donna also taught me a lot about grace and loving life. She was more like a big sister to me. She was always focused on family and never let the special moments pass by. She knew that the most precious memories were waiting silently in everyday moments. She was taken from us way too early. I miss her every day. When I hold this pillow, it's like getting to send a hug to her in heaven."

The photo is one of only 2 that I have of her. I lost all the photos that I had of her during my divorce. My ex destroyed my photo albums. This made it all the more important to me to preserve this.
