Journaling says: Helen, a silver molly, was born in November, 2009. She was one of five survivors of a batch of fry that we first thougt were baby guppies.
She was born with a foreshorteed body and possibly missing a fin. She can't swim with her body horizontal like normal fish - she swims vertically, flipping and turning to rise in the water.
We named her Helen after Helen Keller because she, too, has overcome serious handicaps to live a normal life.
