"This was a Halloween to remember. I had one of the best home-made costumes ever! I always went to grandma and grandpa's house for trick-or-treating however that year Grandpa Toebben was at St. Joeseph's Hospital in St. Charles. The wing he was on was hosting a trick-or-treat event for kids. Before going to the hospital I went to Mrs. Ulrich's house to show her my costume. I remember being so happy that we went to the hospital to trick-or-treat because I was the only kid that showed up. All the patients on the floor were so happy that I was there. I remember one lady encouraging me to try the "apple juice". The juice was actually apple cider and it was terrible. The woman laughed because she had pulled a prank on me."
