a friend of mine just introduced my to this site several days ago and this is the page that caught my eye and wants me to get back into the swing of scrapping...thank you!
Glad to see you're back to scrapping again. Yay! I really like how the gathered ribbon looks along the scalloped edge. And all the bling accents are so pretty. Such a pretty LO! Oh, and congrats Granny!
Wow...beautiful layout....the journaling brought a tear to my eye....and you saying that you never can stop adding stuff brought a chuckle....since I'm the same way!!! Truly gorgeous!!!
Well, it's a really good thing you didn't tear it up! It is simply lovely, with the perfect ethereal (sp?) tone to it. The ribbon is such a creative touch. It's great to have you back!
Welcome back! I've missed seeing your work in the gallery. Your "throw aways" would be my "Tah-Da's!" Your doodling is fabulous and I loved reading all the different techniques you used in creating this lovely page. The journaling and photo are precious!
Beautiful Susan! What a special photo! I love the way you arranged the ribbon along the scalloped border punching! Can't believe you even thought of tearing this up! Shame on you!
You almost tore this up????!!! Are you kidding me?? It's gorgeous!!!!! I love how you doodled around the edges! I was hoping it was a stamp you used b/c I want to copy it but I can't doodle! :) I love everything about this layout!! Going into my favorites and getting some votes!
So relieved that you didn't rip it up, Susan, because it is completely and totally stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I enjoyd admiring all your exquisite details; very endearing photo! Fave! ...glad to see you back!
I'm so glad you didn't tear this up, Susan! It turned out BEAUTIFULLY!!! The photo is lovely, and I am so impressed with all your techiniques! It's so good to see you scrapping again...I sure hope you're feeling better, my friend! LOVE this page so much!!!
Slowly but surely, I'm scrapping again! Oh, how I missed it! I must admit, this layout did NOT turn out like I'd planned. In fact, I almost tore it up and started again!
This is a photo I took a couple of weekends ago of my newest granddaughter, Maggie, and my DD, Kimberly. The layout started out as simple and I just can't seem to quit adding things to it! LOL! The bottom edge is punched with an EK Success edge punch. Then I punched some holes at the top of each scallop and threaded my ribbon through the holes and kinda scrunched it. Then I added pink "robin's egg" embellies between each place that I threaded the ribbon. The "daughter" is a transparency layered over a tag I found in my stash. I layered a few blooms and added bling centers. I softened the edges of the photo in PSE8. The definition was also a transparency that I attached with bling. Then...since I couldn't leave well enough alone, I decided to add a little doodling around the edges. I doodled with brown pen, then added the pink with my Copic marker and tiny bling centers for the flowers I drew. BTW...the black border was added digitally so that the white edges of the layout would show.
Journaling is tucked behind the top of the photo and reads:
One thing a mother never gets enough of is hugs and kisses. There's nothing sweeter than kissing your precious daughter. I remember the sweet kisses I got from you Kimmer, and now I see that you enjoy the same moments with your daughter. It's a very special thing…those kisses. Enjoy them and steal as many as you can!
