Yes! When I owned my store I used to bring up proper photo storage in the classes I offered. Photos will get bent, faded and otherwise damaged if they don't have a proper home until scrapbooked or placed in an album. It may seem like an insurmountable task to tackle, but gather your system and tackle it one day at a time. You'll be surprised how many photos you can sort while dinner simmers. :)
I have decades of photos, some that were removed from damaging photo albums others that were never in albums. I purchased archival manilla folders to store my photos. I categorized them primarily by year. I realize I may never get ALL of my photos into scrapbooks. Many of them are being simply mounted with descriptions and stories where needed. I scrap my favorites, and have done some special trips. Now that everything is digital I am looking into digital scrapbooking for those. I will always love creating pages and have enough supplies to last a lifetime. It is a rewarding hobby and I love sharing my memories.
