This layout captured one of those "Generation Gap" moments my mother told me to watch out for...LOL...the moment my young grandson wanted to know what a newspaper was...WHAT??? A NEWSPAPER??? This is a reality for the next generations (this little guys parents use the Web for their news) so I just had to scrapbook the moment Beck touched a newspaper for the first time and maybe the last (I hope not).

This layout has wonderful triangles built into the design - see how the groups of stars can all be connected to form a large one? Can you also see how the cluster of circles in the bottom right-hand corner forms a triangle too? Triangular formations help the eye to keep moving (discovering) what's on a layout.

The ebook "New to Scrapbooking Quick Guide 5 - Easy Layouts Using Geometric Shapes" gave me the idea for this layout. And though the book was written for those new to scrapbooking I'm always inspired by ideas I can add more advanced techniques and skills to.

The misting on this layout was more bold than what I'd done on the other layouts created in "My May Misting Month." Black was pretty gutsy but I love how it turned out - I sprayed a backward "L" on the paper before adding the rest of the layers and embellishing.

I didn't have to tape down the edges of this paper because the misting was so light and therefore minimal warping occurred. The paper edges were inked with an ink pad.

Go have some fun yourself - try something new with your mists. Thanks for looking.
