Wednesday, November 24th - We arrived in Okinawa the evening before Thanksgiving! We met a nice young couple in the terminal at Yokota (Tokyo) who were stationed in Okinawa. They were on our flight to Okinawa and invited us to their house for Thanksgiving dinner the next day but we declined although we had no idea what we were going to do!

We slept late on Thanksgiving morning then walked off-base to find Thanksgiving dinner. We didn't have to go to far to find a Wendy's and around the corner we found Thanksgiving dessert – Baskin Robbins ice cream cones.
When we got to the base later that afternoon we were told that the USO was furnishing a big turkey dinner with all the trimmings for those away from home so we did get a big traditional Thanksgiving dinner after all!
