Great title, and love the paper with the ship on it, along with the photos that you took. Neat way to document the terrible oil spill that has happened.
Wow, i don't know how you do it - those homemade letters are just exquisite Betty!!!!!! Clever title and I love that you documented this - even though it's such a horrible tragedy, it will be great for your grandchildren to have almost a first hand account of a huge history making event. Hopefully something good will come out of this whole thing, I'm praying for something monumental - like finding something other than oil to rely on so much.
everytime I see this on the news it makes me cry. you have created a great LO to document this awful tragedy with your wonderful photos & journaling. the letters look fantastic too...great job!
PERFECT paper for these photos!! I LOVE what you've done here..and a perfect documentation of the Gulf tragedy. BTW...these are some GREAT photos! Don't know if you drew the birds or not...but they're the perfect addition! Your hand drawn letters are pretty cool too...AND you had to cut them out?!
Love this layout and the simplicity of the design. Perfect pp and title and great journalling of the disaster! We have been hearing about it over here in Oz...such a tradgedy!!
What an awesome layout!! You did a fantastic job drawing the lettering. Hard to tell it from the rope on the paper. That paper was made for your pictures...placing the photo under the rope is such a clever idea.
You did a GREAT JOB designing this LO and documenting this tragic event! I feel so badly for the fishermen and the precious wildlife lost as a result of this accident! Love all your handmade details and design! Faves!!!
Love that background paper- so perfect with these pics! Your title lettering is awesome- so creative! The doodled seagulls are a great touch, too! Another into my faves!
Journaling reads: "Just days before my first trip to New Orleans, there was an accident on one of the big oil rigs out in the Gulf of Mexico. On April 20, 2010, the Deepwater Horizon, a rig owned by BP, suffered an explosion which resulted in the worst oil spill in U.S. history. Not only is the spill causing the death of much of the wildlife along the coastline, but is it also killing many local resident’s only means of earning a living. By the time I returned in May for my second visit, the oil had spread pretty far inland. The fishing and shrimp boats had been forced to cease operation. These are photos of just a couple of the many boats that we saw docked along the coast. To date, there are tar balls washing up onto the beaches as far east as the Florida Pandandle. July 12, 2010"
Just a simple layout with some pp I found while down in New Orleans. The lettering is hand drawn, colored and cut by hand. The other bits of rope are printed on the paper. TFL!!!
