This is my grandson experiencing the beach for the first time in his life. He was about 9 months old at the time. What a cutie!!!!

This was for the natural embellishments challenge, and this was a challenge in itself.

To make the beach, I chopped minute rice up and put it in a baggie with some tan paint, squished it around, and then using Elmer's glue I glued it to the paper while gluing the shells down too. As the glue was drying I added some sand from a kit my granddaughter had. Later I added more shells, some pearls, and made some ‘dried grass' in spots by the fence and beach. The surfboard was made out of a craft piece of wood and some left over rubons. The ‘splashes of waves' is white paint (from stamps and freehand splotching). White water splashes are carried out on the edges of the pictures and title.

My husband had the burlap, but it was too tightly weaved, so I pulled strands out to loosen it up. The birds were rubons put on cardstock and cut out and attached with foam dots. The title and fence is cut out with my Silhouette, the journaling was printed off my computer and hand cut. The crab is the only embellishment that was not handmade, and it was an appliqué in my stash. The other paper used was white cardstock with shimmery blue paint swirls stamped on.

Thanks for looking!

Oh ... about the sippy cup picture ... he discovered sand on the tongue!
