This is a LO I have been wanting to do for years. In the photo on the left is my paternal grandmother, Josie Amalie. I am in the photo on the right. Grandma was 3 when her photo was taken in 1897. I was 3 when my photo was taken in 1970. The original picture of my grandma is on the LO in the upper left of her photo. I always heard while growing up that her and I looked like identical twins when we were born. I never really knew for certain until I was shown this photo of her during my teenage years. There is a definite resemblance. The bird postcard in the upper left corner of the LO was one she actually received. It is dated 1905. Grandma and her family lived in Minneapolis until 1904 then the moved to a farm in western Wisconsin, where she stayed, married my grandfather and they raised their family on a farm not too far from where her parents' farm. My middle name was named after her.
The flowers in the center of the page were from a bouquet of flowers I held during a wedding. I colored peach chalk on the large white flowers to make them blend in better with the smaller flowers. The crochet doily behind the pics was either handmade by grandma or her sister -- they made so many and I was blessed to have inherited some. The compass above my photo was given to me by my wonderful friend, Lauri D (you gotta check her gallery out!) The stem for the center flowers and the small flowers around the edges of the LO were from the Serenade cartridge. The letters to our names were made from the Lyrical Letters cartridge. Buttons at the bottom of the page were from Grandma's bucket of buttons. Thank you so much for looking and comments. I appreciate your views.
