My BF and my father were always very kind to one another but they didn't have easy conversations for the longest time. It was mostly my dad's fault as he didn't really like my BF for the longest time because he thought I deserved better (I don't really think he would have liked anyone really). Then after we were together for 4 years he realized that we most likely are going to stay together and made an effort to get along with my BF. Now they have a great time with each other and bond over all sorts of manly stuff =D
