OMGosh, Izzy ~ This is fabulous! And what a fun project to do with your little guy! Please tell him I think his matchbox car is the BEST idea ever! I really love this...thanks for the idea, too...I could do something like this with Desi ~ LOVE it!!!!!!!!
MAJOR CUTENESS here! When I saw this on the EP blog the other day, I didn't realize it was yours! Congrats on being featured! It's amazing! Love it! :-)
I made this shadow box with my little boy. We tried to include bits and pieces of the things we think embody summer: the lake, the park, the fair, going places and lots of sunshine. He wanted me to put one of his little matchbox cars in the box. We chose the white convertible because it seemed most like summer.
We used a Tim Holtz configurations box, painted it white with acrylics, then added mists and a coat of crackle paint. It was really quick and easy to do, even with "help" from my child. The embellies are all fun stickers from Echo Park. Design Team work for the Scrappy Chic Cafe.
