WOW - I think this one is my very favorite of all of you heritage page, but such a very sad story - she has such a wistful look on her face - almost as if she was looking into the future - this one is definitely a FAVE.
LOVE your use of lace...the layouts are so amazing and vintage feeling, as if I've stepped back in time. What a beautiful young lady she was and I'm enjoying the stories as well. I hope you are printing up the stories and attaching them to the back of the layouts!
Beautiful layouts. I'm working on family heritage albums myself... one for each of my 3 kids. Very time consuming but sooo great to get the stories about our ancestors. Yours are just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
I could have sworn I commented on this....because I remember staring at it, with jaw dropped open :) This must be one of the most beautiful heritage pages ever...your design with the kc pps is HEAVENLY! Love the clock chippie, the cameo and all the lovely lace! A vintage beauty...fave.
The is just gorgeous, Maryanne - love the soft colors and all the pretty cut outs and the little cameo - and that pic is stunning! Love the story of how the page evolved...Such a beautiful, beautiful page!!!
Maryanne you made me laugh with the way you "fiddled" with your page, looking for that perfect fit. What a stunning page you created.
A beautiful photo in a beautiful setting.
What a sad story, but such a wonderful photo to scrap. And as usual I just sit back and enjoy every detail of your layout. Your work is always so amazing. I was actually wondering about your flooding situation the other day. So sorry to hear that you are affected again. Hugs Jenny
gasp ohhhhh my gosh! You are BACK scrapping for sure and knocking it outta that ballpark. wow stunning art so soft and romantic. Sad short life but oddly her photo now brings such beauty and amazement. You wanna double dip on photos? Yes please do~! We would all love to see this photo scrapped as many times as needed. Something about the romance and the look of the day, the elegance of just a simple photo is sooooo appealing.
WINNER OF THE DAY!!!!!! I pick one every day. Here is a GORGEOUS LO with a rather sad story. When it's our time {no matter what age } we go. I LOve heritage pages & this one is PERFECT~~~~~
This is just stunning! The photo is fabulous and a sad story. I love how you scrapped this. Not every layout needs a title especially the vintage photo ones. This is beautiful as is. :)
Maryanne, this is absolutely stunning. I have just sat and stared at it for 10 minutes. Beautiful. Such a poignant story behind the photo, but what a treasure it is. Gorgeous pps, beautiful embelishment work, wow the Kaisercraft pps get better and better. Love the pretty yellow roses and vintage details. Into Faves.
STUNNING work, and I had to sit back and stare at this one for several minutes, just taking it all in. Such a sad ending for a young, beautiful girl. fave
such a sad story - she was such a beautiful young lady - what a shame her life ended at such a young age. your lo however is anything BUT sad - it's got old world charm, beauty and grace. A lovely combination of lace, punchwork and gorgeous pps. TFS.
what a gorgeous page, Maryanne-your design and details are perfect with this lovely heritage photo; so funny that you started with a totally different photo and theme...it took on a life of it's own and turned out wonderful. Sad that she died so young-beautiful tribute page. Love the dyed lace-I've been dipping everything I can get my hands on in tea, coffee, paint, etc lately too!
Gorgeous photo and layout! Perhaps age 16 was one of her last sweet years, so the title may have still suited the layout. Also, she may have been a sweet girl at age 16. Just an idea.... Awesome work, in any event.
This layout originally started out with a photo of my dgd and was titled Sweet 16. Over the last couple of weeks I have tried to get a good photograph, but due the bad weather and floods in our area it wasn't going to happen. Each day I looked at it and thought it just wasn't right and felt the photo and papers didn't work together. I decided to change the photo to this one of my grandfathers twin sister who would have been about 16 at the time and was taken about 1904. Her name was Frances Catherine, but for unknown reasons she was always called Queenie. She had a short life and died 2 years later from pnuemonia. Then the title didn't seem to work with this photo so I removed it. I will have to think of a new title. I will be repeating some old photo's as I would like all my children to have one each. I used the Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings...so pretty for heritage photo's! The lace is old stash and I coloured it with some yellow dye to take away the harsh white. Clockface and cameo have been in my stash for awhile also and the small flowers are by Green Tara. Thanks so much for popping in and having a peek. Hope you all have a wonderful week :)
