Gary did not feel well so Bev had gone with Bill and me to the park. After walking through the entire park Bev went back to the ship to check on Gary and Bill and I took a ferry over to a small island across the harbor.

While we were waiting in line to get our ferry tickets I noticed the Women's restroom. It's the first one I've ever seen with a sign announcing that it was open 24 hours. The men's was also apparently open 24 hours.

Inside the restroom the stall doors were marked to let you know if it was a western-style toilet or a “squatter” which is most often seen around Asian countries. In some places it is very difficult to find a western toilet.

The ferry was reasonably priced but it was strange that the downstairs area was for standing only. There were plastic handles dangling from the ceiling to hold on to while standing as the ferry was moving.

If you wanted to sit, you had to walk up very steep stairs to get upstairs where all the seats were. Those with bad knees or on canes or crutches who needed to sit had to walk up steep stairs to get to the seats. That seemed a little backwards to me – to put the seats upstairs where you had to climb a difficult and steep stairway to get to them. Once we were seated someone came around and collected another 15 cents from every passenger upstairs for going to the top deck where the chairs were. We gladly paid 15 cents each to be able to sit down. (The tickets on this page are the receipts we received when we paid 15 cents each to sit for the trip each way.)
