Xiamen, China - Still on the little island

We rode a tram halfway around the island, then we got off and walked around a and went through the Chinese garden. Wish we hadn't paid $5.00 each for that. The gardens were not in good shape, had few pretty plants, the ponds all had filthy water, the garden had with steep stairways everywhere and although it had statues of pandas and things, they all needed paint and repairing. Even all the cute pagoda-style buildings in the garden needed paint and repairing. It was in a serious state of neglect. (Tickets on this page are from the tram.)

The Chinese garden we paid extra to see wasn't nearly as nice as the rest of the island. The rest of the island really was worth seeing. Not the garden.
