Cowboy Dawg is one of the best road trip buddies anywhere.

He's always ready to go when you are, comes when you call without saying "just a minute," and you never have to wait on him to start the truck.

He never complains, never asks "when's lunch?" or "are we there yet?" He's happy to ride shotgun or nap in the backseat, eats whatever you eat wherever you happen to stop without saying, "I want a hamburger," or "I hate chicken," and he doesn't whine and gripe at the candy racks next to the register.

He doesn't mess with the radio dials, and he doesn't spend the entire trip texting his friends. He lets you drive without comment about how fast (or slow) you happen to be going, doesn't tell you to "watch the road," and he's perfectly content to let you pick the direction without referring to the map.

He doesn't care if you get there late, or even if you get there at all. Just give him the end of a stale hot dog and he's a happy happy camper.

These photos are from a 2010 trip to SW Arkansas where we had to deliver a couple of YMCA Camp horses to their new family. It took ALL day and part of the night to make the 700 mile round trip, but Cowboy was just as happy to be in the truck at the end of the day as he was at the beginning. In fact, the next day he was ready to go again.

Yep. He's a real road warrior.

**********

I've had these photos printed off to scrap for a LONG time, but just now got around to them.

This paper is from my LSS and is for the June Kit of the Month. I tell people that paper talks to me, which sounds kind of funny, but I helped create the design for this layout this month, and these papers just screamed at me from the minute I saw them.

I was hoping that there would be ONE extra set of papers left over, but it turned out that there were TWO extra sets of the papers and the boss let me buy one! I was so excited because even while Kelley and I were creating this layout design, this project was so in my head that I knew that nothing else would work like I wanted it to.

Lucky me!
