How this card came about: Last year I was blessed to attend a Management Development program for 6 months. There were staff from different departments, and we were split into teams and as these programs go, we had to give a presentation to our executive team. Many delegates dropped out over the 6 month period, our team of 5 had a few arguments, understandably, but in the end our team won with the best presentation. Since then our only male team member transferred to our Cape Town branch. As far as I know, our team of 4 women left in the Johannesburg is the only team that still gets together just to catch up, complain a bit but most of all give each other moral support and pep talks. We decided to extend this moral support to other people in our company we feel need a bit of pick-me-up. Once a month, one of our 4 will pick someone we need the support and give them a handmade card (2 of us are creative scrappers) and a chocolate or flowers or whatever. I made this card is for a brave breast cancer survivor we work with. I don’t know her well, yet her bravery and courage really caught our attention. The way she carries on with her job, smiling, and enduring a mastectomy and chemo therapy made me think of her as superwoman – the inspiration for this card. One of our fellow Carers will give her the card and a small gift of sorts. On the inside of the card is the following message: “You are a Superhero wrapped in Courage & Determination. From a Team who finds you to be wonderful inspiration to other woman.”
