Journaling reads: You have become such a girly-girl lately. You used to hate dresses and you'd pull out the hairbow as soon as you discovered their presence on your head. Now you want to don your Sunday best every time we go out. You won't let mom pick the dress out, either. It has to be your choice. Luckily, I've trained you to know what shoes and bow matches the dress, so the decision is all yours. Even before your fourth birthday, your maternal instincts shine through in the way you care for your dolls and watch over your little brother. This new development seems quite ironic to me, as I never embraced any of the traditional girly activities. Dolls lay neglected and I couldn't wait to get out of whatever dress I was forced to wear when I was a kid. Yet my offspring, with 50% of my DNA, is the opposite. Even your grandmother commented that you have become very feminine. That's a good thing because you are, indeed, a girl. I just hope you enjoy some of the tomboy-ish things that your mother is into. I wouldn't want you to miss out on sports and legos because you're afraid to break a nail. I think your personality will transcend gender stereotypes, and you can be it all!
