Hi all! This lo is my submission for this month's challenge. It is of my DD who could do anything with his hands. He was a plumber, mechanic, restored cars&boats, built ships and repaired nucleur subs for the USN. He was also an accomplished artist of oil paintings. My DM always gave him a hard time about his blue collar profession because of the mess and the constant grease on his hands. But, us kids were very proud of him. He loved to play pinocle (sp?) and many times would bring home a little extra for his 6 kids.

This lo is based on Suepup's (Charlotte) sketch used for inspiration. The scrabble letters were courtesy of Renae Harrison from her blog. The gold gears on the top left corner of the mat are upcycled by my DS from computer hard drives that he is salvaging. I used actual sandpaper as the mat behind the pic, with cardboard in between of course. In this pic he is sanding the body of an old car so I thought it was appropriate. I embossed the die-cut on the bottom left corner to bring it to life, used twisted copper wire from my DS's salvaging on the border of the cardboard, Mandy's stickpin (aka Crafty Sprinkles) and lifted Renae's string woven across the cardboard. Thank you all so much ladies for your inspiration.
