These photos were taken at the store when Cassie was being fitted for her first pair of pointe shoes in January 2011. Journaling says: Today was the day Cassie finally got her first pointe shoes. She was SO excited. We went down to Body & Sole in Winnetka after school for the fitting, racing to beat an approaching winter storm. She tried several pairs, but it didn't take as long as we expected because the woman there was able to find her perfect match pretty quickly. She's a Bloch Serenade girl!

This is for:
1) November PageMaps, Etc. Sketch 5.

2) November Girls, Girls, Girls, - LO #2.

3) November Two Pic Challenge.

I've been saving the box her shoes came in for almost two years in my pile because I knew I wanted to use it on this page somehow. I made the black & red shaped mat from 2 sides of the box folded open. I used a bracket punch above the words 'Movement is Freedom' and cut down the cardboard on either side of it to make the tab shaped top. I traced a template on the bottom portion and cut out the bracket shapes there. The 'Bloch' in between the photos is cut from one of the ends, and the journaling area is cut from a third side of the box. I machine stitched the white page border, and I doodled all the white dots with my Signo. I used BG Bittersweet scraps for the top pp, the striped strip, and the small punched flowers because the patterns have red and pink in them, and I needed to tie the pink pointe shoes embellie in with the red box. I also used Bloch's other two trademarks (along with 'Movement is Freedom') from the box: 'For Dancers' cut from the fourth side and added to the journaling shape, and the 'B' symbol shaped like a pointe shoe punched out with a circle punch from the end. As I said, I've been saving the box all this time, but I never noticed until I started taking it apart and cutting that on one of the inner flaps on the top, along with the printed statement that the box was made from recycled materials, it said "Save this box and use it for something fun! Bloch cares about the environment.' LOL I wonder if they ever envisioned it on a scrapbook page! Anyway, I cut that out and added it to the bottom corner so that Cassie will always remember that this is the actual box from her first shoes. I'm also saving the complete top end flap of the box with the style and size info to tuck behind the page in the page protector for her to keep.
