I challenged myself to make a Christmas layout without using any Christmas themed items. The papers are a mix of Prima and BoBunny. The star was a cricut cut and the frame from Imaginarium.
The picture is just the front of a Christmas card. What I loved about it is that Joseph is the one holding the Baby Jesus. See, I think Joseph dosen't get enough credit for being the best stepdad ever. He faced ridicule and scorn for staying with Mary, but loved her and stayed by her side anyway. (OK, so an angel had to help convince him, but still admirable). There is something just so human and relatable in the nativity story. Anyone who has ever held a newborn in awe can start to understand their joy.
One of my favorite Christmas songs is by MercyMe called "Joseph's Lullabye". Here are the lyrics:
Go to sleep my Son This manger for your bed You have a long road before You Rest Your little head
Can You feel the weight of Your glory? Do You understand the price? Or does the Father guard Your heart for now So You can sleep tonight?
Go to sleep my Son Go and chase Your dreams This world can wait for one more moment Go and sleep in peace
I believe the glory of Heaven Is lying in my arms tonight Lord, I ask that He for just this moment Simply be my child
Go to sleep my Son Baby, close Your eyes Soon enough You'll save the day But for now, dear Child of mine Oh my Jesus, Sleep tight
